Troop 20 Orienteering Scavenger Hunt @ Huntington Beach State Park
Nov 10 @ 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Troop 20 has invited us to participate in their Orienteering Scavenger Hunt campout. Our pack has camped out at Huntington Beach State Park the last two years. It is about an 1.5 hour ride to the park. Please plan to bring your lunch with you when you go. Since this is the weekend before our Pack 20 Campout, I have already indicated to the troop that most of you will probably not stay the night. Supper and breakfast will be provided if you decide to stay the night.

I have heard some of the details of this event. Our boys will be paired with older scouts and participate in a scavenger hunt. They will be watching the older boys demonstrate and complete task , i.e. compass reading, knot tying, cpr and first aid, in order to proceed to the next station which must be found via compass. The last station our boys will be able to help their scout partner set up and complete the string burn which our boys will be familiar with. The boys will have a great time at this event.

Wallace & I will not be at this event as we will be traveling with the Wando Band to Indianapolis, Indiana. Bud Sutherland has graciously agreed to head up this event for us. As with all other cub scout events, parents are required attend with their sons. Please let me know if you are planning to attend so I can let Scoutmaster Angus Rae know how many of us they can expect. Please let me know if you have any questions.
